I actually prefer the newsletter, because I try not to spend much time scrolling through Notes in general. If I am getting tired of your newsletter I can just swipe left and archive them! 😉
I'm not active on Notes and don't really know how to use it. I saw only a few of your Photobook Sunday notes if I was lucky enough that they appeared when I logged in on Substack, so I'm happy you are making it a Post.
Hi Klamo, thank you. I will make it a Post and see where it goes. I like trying to introduce books that may be useful in the photography context. Many thanks for your comment.
I have no problem receiving any post you write, but I had already subscribed to you, so nothing changes for me. I understand your decision to commit to the subscribed and those who interact with you; notes work, but the interaction is often minimal.
Hi Vincent, you are one of the reasons I am concerned about Notes, because I really like your single images. I hope you will collect them and Post them. Maybe in addition to your birding monthly round-ups!? Just a thought. But don’t just do it on my account. 😉
Would you explain to me why you’re concerned about Notes, and especially in regard to me? I’m not sure I get your point, and I know you must have one to make that recommendation. Maybe I will follow your advice, but I want to make sure I understand what you mean.
Hi Vincent, I get your monthly Post in my email. The algorithm is not my friend, so I have to go hunt for the Notes you post, they don't show up in my email, which is not great. I have to go to your home page on Substack and then look at your activity. I do this with a few people. Not many. I want to see your photographs from when you are out and about. I want to read your short paragraphs. And I know I am slow and miss many. I do not want to be like a kid scrolling through notes like those other platforms make you do. I just don't. My decision is therefore to stop reading notes. I will in future try to focus on Posts only. I don't know if this answers your question? Let me know.
Ah, now I understand. I do like the ‘ethereal’ quality of Notes, they sometimes (not often) lead to interesting new contacts. But I don't want to make you hunt for my photos, so maybe I’ll consider a second monthly Post with some highlighted single photos. The problem I have with Posts is that I get the feeling they’re supposed to be statements, pleas, essays, etc. with a structure. For my birding stories, that’s no issue. For my single images (most of them not involving birds) that would mean coming up with a ‘theme’. ‘Highlights’ is the only thing that comes to mind right now, but I’ll give it some thought. Thank you for bringing this to my attention anyway; I guess I supposed you would see my Notes in your feed (because you're subscribed).
Don't do anything on my account. Just to say, I receive your monthly Post. I do not get your notes, which is a shame. Don't take time refining your individual images just for me, but be aware, that sadly, I will not see them on a regular basis in their present form, and I am sure there are others like me, who like your Posts, and would love to also see the rest. Theme, or no theme.
As someone who rarely looks at Notes, I’m very happy that this will now be emailed!
Thank you, Andrew! I am with you on the Notes, and grateful you still want to receive another Post a week from me!
Finally and thanks 😉 I don’t use Notes a lot, so I’m very happy you share this interesting content as a weekly post now..
Thank you, Leon! Much appreciated. I haven't looked at notes for the past 10 days, and it actually feels good 😊 Not feeling behing!

Thank you, Susanne. Very helpful.
Thank you for moving these Photobook Sundays to your regular feed!! Yay!
Thank you, KewtieBird!

Søren, please continue with posting about photobooks. I learn so much from seeing these posts and appreciate your time and expertise.
Thank you, Old Owl! Much appreciated. I plan to continue… just wasn’t sure everyone wanted to hear from me twice a week!
I'd like to hear from you as much as possible. Just keep on keepin' on for as long and as much as you are able.

I love the how intimate the photo of the two men is, great book suggestion. I continue to look forward to peeks into your library, thanks!
Hi Kate, I think this comment was meant for Soren, but instead you replied to me.

You found some HCB photos I did not see before!!!
Hey Emilia, a lot of them were new to me too, which is a treat!
I like this on the regular feed too.
