Your article on Fontana encouraged me to look for a book of his here in the US and i found “Unpublished Notes”, a treasure trove of his works of color. Amazing. Much thanks Søren.

Revolutionary work and I'd also say, evergreen. The style is timeless - and I love color photography! Thank you and I would like to order one.

Fantastic, thanks. I have an older copy of Skyline, but I’d love to see a better quality of scan and reproduction. Ordered one right away!

Thanks Søren for introducing me to Franco Fontana. Delicious pictures - loved them and I will look for at least one of his books.

Perhaps he’s a bit like a Giacomelli in colour. If someone wants to spend less I have a small book since ages ago edited by Espace Photo Paris Collection Passeport point la Photographie

.. ‘copied & pasted myself right into the book & double ‘page spreads ! Your supplied link is an ‘auto trigger’ for myself - all compelling ! Doing so ‘transported me visually & virtually into ‘a viewing space akin to ‘gallery wall ! The book ‘Cover puzzled me - but I ‘get it now’ & must return - just to examine the Cover in detail ! (am viewing currently - only on iPad.. though have at least 3 gorgeous Displays inc an original Apple Cinema Display downstairs from our ‘illegal loft days.. Final Cut Pro & Photo Studio etc)

How bout I stop with my ‘spoilers & pertinent questions & get back to you later ? I adore seeing & shooting ‘inspiring work’ of any nature ‘as seen through the viewer or readers’ eyes & ideally fingers ! As if ‘glancing or ‘perusing .. or ‘looking askance’ is how I’d Direct Talent - haha - or - who couldn’t ‘tear their eyes from the images & ideas within ..’ as they turn the pages !

I use the term ‘delicious’ in a carnivorous visual sensibility.. ‘would lick them if I could haha ! Am expert level at ‘wallowing in certain imagery.. as well as ‘drinking in’ the spectacular imagery !

Hopefully you will like it. I am very pleased with it. I have a number of his books, and this one is very well reproduced. The publishers say that they re-scanned the images, so hopefully it is an improvement on your existing copy. I am very impressed that you have one. I have never come across an original one.

Delicious is right! I bought a photograph once at Paris Photo and the dealer from NY held up the print with his white gloves and proclaimed it delicious. It is a term that I use from time to time about photographs, when the image, printing and feel is just right.... you can eat it with a spoon!!
