I love this story, I love how you happened upon a picture and that fired your imagination so much as to want to know the story. Sent you in a journey that satisfied your inquisitive nature. Absolutely fascinating!
Thank you! I am honoured that I could keep your attention all the way through the post. For someone, who does not consider himself a writer, that is very kind of you to say.
I thoroughly enjoy your journalistic style of writing—it keeps me engaged from start to finish!!!! You’re an incredible writer, Soren!!!!
Also, I have many books by Hemingway. While he’s not my favorite I love the same thing about him—he’s a no fluff kind of writer! I appreciate that because I seem to be very fluffy in my own writing. While in university, many professors praised my ability to write long form essays. While business(technical) writing professors always reminded me to CONDENSE my thoughts. I hated the technical writing class at first but learned to love the challenge of adding no fluff to my writing. I still am cognizant of that now because of that class, although it’s still a huge struggle for me 🤣🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
It’s the highest compliment in my book!!! It means you’re eloquently spoken, have enticing content, and a well structured post! I love it! I wish my writing was like that!
This was genius. It is a perfect image. It has that lovely, slightly soft focus that I like in vintage material. I am very happy with it. And it sort of goes with the story.
Satisfying sleuthing! I think Hemingway's novels based in Spain are written with a deep understanding of the culture, which he was able to connect with so well. Fun stuff!
It is indeed satisfying. Thank you for reading! Hemingway spent a lot of time in Spain in ways normal visitors would not. The 1930s and his coverage of the Spanish civil war must have been a huge influence on him.
This is super cool. I so enjoyed reading through this and I am fascinated with your research that led to these conclusions. What a treasure of a photograph!!
Fascinating story!
Thank you. I really wanted Humphrey Bogart to have made the photograph!!
Haha. Now that really would have been something!
¡Bien hecho, señor! Que increible. A pensar que podrias encontrar y juntar todo.
Thank you. It was fun to explore the possibilities. Maybe I got it right, we will never know for sure.

Thank you Julain. i think I am wired that way. I love these mystery photographs that I come across from time to time.
Well it’s made me want to find some mysterious photos myself! 😁
Excellent!
Exceptional sleuthing!! And your writing had me on edge throughout. Too bad you’re so short on talents! ; )

This is such an exploration. I found myself lost. In a good way. Bravo.
I am glad it was in a good way! Otherwise, I would have had to rethink and do it again 😃
That was great. Thank you. Slim was a startling beautiful women.

Love the idea of developing ‘found’ negatives

Honestly you could make an excellent photography project if you could find a few more. It has resonance!
LoL. I did go through the entire box looking to see if there were more goodies. There weren't. Sadly!
Interesting read and mystery!
thank you! Nothing like a few hours down a rabbit hole!
Fantastic detective work. What a wild ride, Søren!
I love these rabbit holes. I get to play sleuth and learn something at the same time.

I am glad you enjoyed it. There is still a loose end, maybe one day.....
Beautiful story, Søren. The gems that one can find in thrive stores. Just need to be curious.
For sure. I have had a few over the years. It is exciting. Half the time you just need to know that tiny bit more than the other person.
I also love thrive shops. Have found quite a few nice things that interest me. From books to old pictures, cards, enfin, relics from other time! 😉
