I'm having a flashback of scenes from The Magnificent Seven even as I read this. WITH THE ENNIO MORRICONI SCORE, yet.

Loved the poem, the history, the photography, and who doesn't love a cowboy? Awesome.

Wonderful photographs even if they do promote smoking. Nonetheless, the give a great image of the American West.

Looking forward to the next one.

Excellent topic and building anticipation for the next one!. If I saw my photo used and someone who copied it getting all the credit, I would very much want a conversation with that person. Starting off with, why didn’t you have enough respect to ask the original artist!!

See, you are a better person than me. I got to the part where you said “Starting off with….” and I was fully expecting you would say you would smack him ;0)

Thanks for reading!

.. you ask a very decent question.. that I’ve difficulty ‘answering..

perhaps asked incorrectly .. or perhaps not incorrectly at all ?

.. difficult Question to Answer !

On one hand we can & must recognize Original ‘working cowboy Docu Style’ Commercial Photographs - shot ‘On Assignment & presumably a wealth of prior ‘intensely related & likely ongoing documentary photography Is it ‘Art ? ?

Regardless - then perhaps, ‘one can begin to measure the obvious ‘commercial opportunism - creative theft & deception. Far beyond ‘despicable .. & much more into an unusual sort of ‘Mood Disorder.. Omnipotence & Narcissism.. Is it a sort of ‘compulsive brazen kleptomania ? ‘Coveting to Extreme ? ? It sure ain’t ‘Art.. when it’s ’Clearly Copied from & embodies someone else’s Original Work’ & VISION ! !

(fyi - Commercial Clients booked me for ‘my Docu Style shooting plus truly diverse ‘Topical Affinity across almost all Business Sectors - you name it.. - plus ‘STEM - Science Technology Engineering & Medicine. That I shot Stills, Motion Picture & Time Lapse was advantageous as was street rep mediatribe & ‘convergence . A few clients ‘re-sold my Images without prior understanding or Permission - but ‘fight the battles you can win.. & on several occasions I caught em red handed - or my son did when we were Editing on Client Systems or handed a Storage Drive haha .. ! Video Clients such as Air Canada, Imperial Oil, Canadian National Railways, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, The Toronto Stock Exchange let me have free run of their Archives.. & hardly unusual to find Folders with my unique ‘Naming Conventions - presumably other freelance Editors or Producers brought such folders ‘in house’ and/or ‘away from house as well & some with Stock Music assets I’d Secured Rights too !)

I call ‘my stuff’ documentary or hypermedia or writing ..

sometimes ‘it’s all a’twonce eh 🦎🏴‍☠️💋
