That central station building really is impressive! And your photos are wonderful, capturing interesting detail! I don't mind having photography in the art section -- it IS art :)
your street photos are great...they make we want to visit! I especially love Mario De Biasi's Milano Centrale 1950s...its thick with atmosphere.
You might be interested in the work of Amerian photographer David Plowden; some of his work focused on old steam engine trains..I think you might like it...
I love that! Some validation for photography... this is good news. You brought back memories with Milano Centrale. Something about that station spooks me! Perhaps it's just the exterior and the starkness of it... I don't know Mario's work but I adore Gianni Berengo Gardin!!! I could roll naked on his prints. GORGEOUS work! Happy new year Søren!
Wonderful evocative layered photos! Thanks for highlighting photographers who may not be well known. On photography in art section - may be harder to find photography books but then again, people looking for “art” books would come across these and go hmmm… ART! Categories are helpful but also may not promote unexpected discoveries!
Wishing everyone a peaceful healthy year filled with new discoveries!
Thank you for the kind feedback. Finding something unexpected in a book shop is one of the great pleasures in any area of discovery and collecting. Isn't that why we go to the book shelves instead of asking for a particular title at the counter?
Am so far ‘behind the curve’ last few days .. kinda uninspired myself - so glad to spot your Post - as a lover of train travel ! The initial shot with traffic arrow .. ! Do hope you shot that in colour too ! ? I’ve an ‘info shot’ was gonna send elsewhere via Notes.. but mischievous me.. will send your way instead & Darin won’t mind..
As a former pal of mine once said ‘Art Is What You Can Get Away With.. which is hardly true at all .. but mebbe better said .. the ‘Eyes of the Beholder - is all that matters .. eh ! 🦎🏴☠️🖤
Hey Ernest, Glad you like it! Thank you. I have looked up David Plowden, as I was not familiar with his work. Thank you for introducing me. He train stuff on his website is really nice.
Speaking of trains, have you ever looked at René Groebli - he is 97 years old and Swiss - he has a very romantic view on trains, which I also like very much. Check this out:
And you Mark. Very glad to be here on Substack.
I agree with a lot of what you say... but campari was never a great drink 😂

I am going to have a go at Berengo next year. He is one of my favourites. Glad to find another fan!!
Happy and prosperous New Year!

Happy New Year!
OK, we are going to have to disagree on this one. ;0) I have been drinking Campari over all that candy Aperol-stuff.
Thank you Thomas, I am strictly a b+w film guy, I don't have any of my work in colour.
I am with you... eye of the beholder!
Thank you for the kind message and Happy New Year!
Yup, but harder to find a book... but you can't have your cake and eat it!
Happy New Year!
