I appreciate it. I found Abigail by chance some years ago. I bought the photograph from the supermarket and then started looking for more of her work. She was very, very good.
These images are outstanding and tickle my kitschy photography side! I love older images from these eras, but to share the female strength of these photographers is very cool. The supermarket one...wow! Thanks for this. It's the kind of post I like to revisit!
Glad you enjoyed it. It has been one of my favourite photographs for many years. Of course, the story about what is happening in the image is mine, but possible, I think…..
I like your story! It's very plausible. I am now obsessed with Abigail. I think that's two photographers you've introduced me to in less than a month. You're going to keep me busy, Søren! By the way, “there are certain moments we do not see unless we photograph them.” I wrote that down.
Thank you for introducing me to Abigail. Her photos are extraordinary. It’s not often you see the every day lives of women documented in any meaningful way. Now I have to search for her books!

I know, right? I have two of the books. The third has been elusive.
Glad you like the work.
Your essays are getting more and more interesting each time! I learnt a lot each time. Keep up the great work.
Interesting read, thanks for sharing that. Great points about stopping and really observing.
Enjoyed this immensely --- the stories these photo's portray - wow! -the supermarket scene is a masterpiece of domestic irony.
Thanks a lot for your insight. I have to admin I never heard of her
I came by her through the supermarket photograph and started digging. She was extremely good.
Love the shots you shared here. Thanks for the introduction to the work of AH.
I really enjoyed learning about Abigail and her work! Very interesting. Thank you!
Thanks so much for writing this, Søren. I hadn’t heard of Abigail before and this has been a great introduction to her and her work.
Glad you liked it! She is a great photographer, who deserves to be seen a lot more than she is…..
